-John Schaefer, WNYC

"Equal parts jazz school, seminary school and Nirvana's 'School'"
-The Village Voice
"A dazzling debut"
-The Wall Street Journal
ON SCHIZOPHONIA: CANTORIAL RECORDINGS REIMAGINED (Blue Thread)

"A post-modern approach to Jewish sacred music...this set should appeal equally to open minded jazzers, fans of Yiddishkeit and downtown habitues"
"So far past unimaginable that sets up an entirely new kind of individualism in music...wild, truly wild"
-The Buffalo News
"Some of the best Psychadelic rock I've heard in a long while"
-Bruce Gallanter, Downtown Music Gallery

-New Sandcatchers album is in production!
THE PIECES BROKEN is a new duo project from world renowned pianist Marilyn Lerner and guitarist Yoshie Fruchter. Combining the minimalist chamber jazz sensibility inspired by albums like the seminal Bill Evans/Jim Hall duo recordings and Jewish compositional tropes from their klezmer backgrounds, The Pieces Broken is a truly unique and unparalleled musical voice.
